"As a Mirage"
Life and death in the Namibian desert

This project aims to show the duality of nature: on one hand, the delicacy of life
and its breaking; on the other, its immense strength and adaptability.
Two realities that seem opposite, but are part of the same flow.
The journey begins in the areas of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, where silence envelops
an arid landscape, once flourishing.
The dead acacia trees stand as dark silhouettes against the white dunes, telling a story of fragility
and connection: when the rains were abundant, the valley’s river would flood, allowing these trees to thrive.
But with the diminishing rainfall, the area stopped receiving nourishment, and the
acacias perished. In black and white, these images invite reflection
on the transience and the delicate balance that holds together the living world.
The intense colors seen along the D707 road bring us back to the strength of life.
Ostriches and oryxes traverse arid, inhospitable landscapes, showing how nature, despite
the hardships, always finds a way to thrive.
Here, life appears like a mirage, proving it can assert itself even in the most extreme places.
Delicacy and strength, death and rebirth: this is nature.
A continuous breath that teaches us the beauty and inevitability of life's flow.
