Creatures of Risiintuturi.

This series is dedicated to the trees of Riisitunturi National Park in Finnish Lapland, where during winter a unique and extraordinary phenomenon occurs: the formation of arctic hoarfrost on the spruce trees.
This natural spectacle is made possible by the specific climatic conditions of the park's swampy hills; high humidity and freezing temperatures encourage the abundant formation of ice crystals, which force the trees to bend under their weight, taking on shapes that resemble strange creatures.
Some of these photos are available for purchase as limited edition fine art prints at the Cinque Rosso art gallery.
